A tapestry I made a few years back. Rather than focusing on colour for this piece, I wanted to shift the focus to touch. For the background weft I chose a natural dyed wool yarn, while the rya knots is made out of jute thread. The contrast between the soft wool, and the stiff jute is very visible.

The inspiration for the tapestry came from the Japanese ink drawings of circles, known as ensō. I framed it with a black plain cotton fabric on the top and bottom to further play on the idea of an ancient Japanese scroll.
